As a kid I participated in:

Swimming, Tennis, Golf

As an adult I participated in:

Volleyball, tennis, coaching

How my activities influenced my occupation and activities in adulthood:

As a recreation major in college I was involved in many sports; tennis, swimming, golf, badminton. I eventually became an elementary school teacher and permanent “team mom” with my kid’s sports teams. Sports were a part of our family’s culture. I play tennis at least 4 times per week and I am 60 years old and have had two knee replacements.

Advice for kids looking to get involved:

Get involved. Don’t wait. Learn good skills, value sportsmanship. Mentor others.
