As a kid I participated in:

A variety of sports, martial arts and strength training.

As an adult I participated in:

Personal Trainer, Ultimate Frisbee, Marine Corps Officer Candidate School, Swing Dance

How my activities influenced my occupation and activities in adulthood:

I have always been active, however, being injured in training during what was my main career-oriented pursuit (USMC), pushed me in the direction of personal training. Personal training became a method through which I could increase my own knowledge of the body and help other people achieve their goals without injuring themselves in the process. Personal training is what led me to go back to school to become a physical therapist.

Advice for kids looking to get involved:

Enhancing your body, be it through strength or cardiovascular training, dance, sports or martial arts, fosters discipline and self-confidence in a productive manner that prepares a young man or woman for success. Strengthening your body strengthens your mind and spirit, and no matter what age you are you are never too young, too old, too weak, or too strong to get started.
